About the artist

Narmin Ismayilzada is an Azerbaijani artist born on May 8, 1998, in Narimanabad, Lankaran region, Azerbaijan. She has been engaged in artistic activities since childhood and has represented Azerbaijan at international biennials, competitions, and symposiums in the United States, Greece, Egypt, and other countries. From 2016 to 2020, she studied Painting, Cinema and Television Art at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts under renowned artists Inna Kostina and Mayis Agabayov. During her studies, she became the national winner of the “Heydar Aliyev 93” presentation competition and received a scholarship established by the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP). In her artistic practice, she combines literature, visual arts, and cinema to create figurative paintings. Her works explore themes of human psychology, female identity, archetypes, national culture, mythology, and personal transformation. She works in the fields of Symbolism and Post-Impressionism and frequently incorporates mixed media techniques. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects, including “Transformasiya”, “Dirçələn Qarabağ”, “Qırmızı Bağ”, “Sənin adın nədir?”, “Qadın Fest”, “Axın”, “Küləyin rəqsi”, and the symposium “Laçına qayıdan yol”. She currently lives in Baku and continues her independent artistic practice.
