Aliya Tomtieva is an Azerbaijani artist based in Baku. She completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, specializing in graphic art. In her artistic practice she works mainly in the genres of landscape, still life, and portrait. Through diverse color solutions and compositions she aims to convey the beauty of nature, human emotions, and the aesthetic aspects of life. Her work incorporates graphic techniques, oil painting, and watercolor. Since her student years she has participated in various exhibitions organized in Azerbaijan. Currently she is engaged in independent artistic practice.
